Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Maritime Decorative Arts, which included the work Battle of the Nile by Ian Hansen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,733.52), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ian Hansen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The schooner yacht America, 1851, which sold at auction in July 2004 for USD 10,157.50 (€ 8,442.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Maritime Decorative Arts durch, in der auch die Arbeit Battle of the Nile von Ian Hansen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.733,52) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ian Hansen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The schooner yacht America, 1851 beobachtet, die im Juli 2004 für USD 10.157,50 (€ 8.442,07) versteigert wurde.
