Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Teasing The Parrot by Ignacio de León y Escosura for USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,802.28). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Ignacio de León y Escosura have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A card party in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 12,547.50 (€ 18,674.44).
