Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study for Schiaparelli’s Perfume, 'Salut', 1934 by Ilse Bing was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,951.09). Admittedly, works by Ilse Bing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self Portrait with Leica, Paris in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 38,586.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Study for Schiaparelli’s Perfume, 'Salut', 1934 von Ilse Bing im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.951,09) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ilse Bing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self Portrait with Leica, Paris im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 38.586,20).
