Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Empty Painting by Ilya Kabakov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The price achieved of GBP 402,200.00 (€ 468,667.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ilya Kabakov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beetle in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Empty Painting von Ilya Kabakov kam im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 402.200,00 (€ 468.667,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ilya Kabakov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beetle im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 3.835.594,92).
