Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Très loin/Far away by Ilya Kabakov was auctioned at Bonhams in Paris in January 2024. The price achieved of EUR 3,840.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilya Kabakov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beetle in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.840,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ilya Kabakov erzielen.
