Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Isoda Koryusai could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints auction, the work A small print from the series Twelve Bouts for Eros (Shikodo tokkumi juni tsugai) changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 274.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isoda Koryusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Courtesan promenading with attendants beneath cherry blossoms, c. 1770s in March 2009 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,278.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Isoda Koryusai konnte im Juli 2019 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints wechselte die Arbeit A small print from the series Twelve Bouts for Eros (Shikodo tokkumi juni tsugai) für GBP 250,00 (€ 274,48) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isoda Koryusai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Courtesan promenading with attendants beneath cherry blossoms, c. 1770s im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 28.278,41).
