Jakuchu gajo (an album of drawings by Jakuchu), complete in two volumes, two folding albums (31 x 21 cm.) containing a total of 78 illustrations of flowers, fruits and insects in white on a black background, published by Unsodo in Kyoto, not dated, but probably early 1870's, it is the first and only edition known of this book, first produced circa 70 years after the death of the artist - original chitsu, and original covers with title slips, in good general condition

The work Jakuchu gajo (an album of drawings by Jakuchu) by Ito Jakuchu was sold in the ASIAN CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2002. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,314.50 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ito Jakuchu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pair Of Cranes And The Rising Sun in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,353,998.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Jakuchu gajo (an album of drawings by Jakuchu) von Ito Jakuchu wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion ASIAN CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.314,50 und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ito Jakuchu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pair Of Cranes And The Rising Sun im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.353.998,13).
