Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Sin título by Ivan Tovar. The price achieved of USD 25,850.00 (€ 30,573.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ivan Tovar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Menace in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 225,265.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sin título von Ivan Tovar zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.850,00 (€ 30.573,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ivan Tovar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Menace im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 225.265,81).
