Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work A view of Valetta harbour by Joseph Bonello. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 786.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Bonello - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing boats before Valetta; and A view of Valetta, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,611.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of Valetta harbour von Joseph Bonello zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 786,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Bonello mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fishing boats before Valetta; and A view of Valetta beobachtet, die im März 2001 für GBP 998,75 (€ 1.611,58) versteigert wurde.
