This artwork by Jaap Gidding achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2006. In the 20th Century Decorative Arts auction, the work Aquarium sold for EUR 2,640.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jaap Gidding; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Underwater sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of EUR 5,040.00.

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jaap Gidding; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Underwater im November 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.040,00.
