Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings (Day Sale), which included the work Orpheus charming the animals by Jacob Savery I. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 37,250.00 (€ 44,612.14), 24% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Savery I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A winter landscape with peasants and cattle by a farmstead, with skaters on a frozen river beyond in December last year with an auction result of GBP 554,400.00 (€ 625,863.60).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Orpheus charming the animals von Jacob Savery I zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 44.612,14) und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Savery I erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A winter landscape with peasants and cattle by a farmstead, with skaters on a frozen river beyond im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 554.400,00 (€ 625.863,60).
