Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The return of Pier Maria de’ Rossi to Parma in 1470 and his declaration as Father of his Country by Jacopo Zanguidi was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,963.61). Admittedly, works by Jacopo Zanguidi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Soldiers on horseback pursued by foot-soldiers in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 85,000.00 (€ 87,116.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The return of Pier Maria de’ Rossi to Parma in 1470 and his declaration as Father of his Country von Jacopo Zanguidi im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.963,61) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacopo Zanguidi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Soldiers on horseback pursued by foot-soldiers im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 85.000,00 (€ 87.116,94).
