Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2002 Christies in Paris held the auction BEL AMEUBLEMENT, TABLEAUX ET DESSINS, which included the work Officiers en reconnaissance by James Alexander Walker. It changed hands for a price of EUR 2,702.50 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,800.00 – 2,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Alexander Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Napoleon Watching The Battle of Friedland, 1807 in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 96,000.00 (€ 142,459.17).

Im Oktober 2002 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion BEL AMEUBLEMENT, TABLEAUX ET DESSINS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Officiers en reconnaissance von James Alexander Walker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 2.702,50 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.800,00 – 2.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Alexander Walker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Napoleon Watching The Battle of Friedland, 1807 im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.000,00 (€ 142.459,17).
