Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Loch Tay, near Kinmore by James Burrell Smith. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 525.00 (€ 600.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Burrell Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Anglers by a rapid; and A waterfall in a mountainous landscape in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,715.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Loch Tay, near Kinmore von James Burrell Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 525,00 (€ 600,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Burrell Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Anglers by a rapid; and A waterfall in a mountainous landscape im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.715,77).
