Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A freshening breeze off the Normandy coast by James Burrell Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,086.31). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Burrell Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Anglers by a rapid; and A waterfall in a mountainous landscape, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,715.77).

Als die Arbeit A freshening breeze off the Normandy coast von James Burrell Smith im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
