Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The riverside at Capel Curig, Wales by James Jackson Curnock. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 705.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by James Jackson Curnock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A watermill in a wooded landscape in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,378.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The riverside at Capel Curig, Wales von James Jackson Curnock zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 705,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Jackson Curnock auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A watermill in a wooded landscape im Juli 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 3.378,77).
