Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2009 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Art, which included the work Gondoliers and elegant figures in front of the Hotel Milan, Venice by James Wallace. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,046.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by James Wallace have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2005 the work Cattle watering on a summer's day was auctioned for GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,972.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gondoliers and elegant figures in front of the Hotel Milan, Venice von James Wallace zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.046,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von James Wallace konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2005 die Arbeit Cattle watering on a summer's day für GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.972,09) versteigert.
