Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Heaven, which included the work Water by James Welling. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 7,560.00. Admittedly, works by James Welling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 04101403 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,835.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Heaven durch, in der auch die Arbeit Water von James Welling zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 7.560,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Welling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 04101403 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.835,55).
