Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,583.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Frans Soolmaker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Herders resting in an italianate landscape, which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,663.25).

Die Arbeit Riders Resting By A Fountain With A Mendicant And Dogs, Figures On A Path And Mountains Beyond von Jan Frans Soolmaker wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion Old Master Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.583,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
