Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Christies in London held the auction Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Glass, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work Unknown by Jean-Baptiste Weyler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,872.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Weyler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Du Marquis De La Fayette in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 157,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Glass, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Jean-Baptiste Weyler zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.872,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Weyler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Du Marquis De La Fayette im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 157.000,00.
