Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Les Hellènes by Jean Cocteau was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2008. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,374.29), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Cocteau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mediterranee - 1952 in December 2014 with an auction result of EUR 132,000.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Les Hellènes von Jean Cocteau kam im April 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.374,29) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Cocteau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mediterranee - 1952 im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 132.000,00.
