In February 2021 Christies in Paris held the auction Jean Cortot, which included the work In Praise Of T.S. Eliot by Jean Cortot. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 16,250.00 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean Cortot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Éloge de Pierre-Jean Jouve in June 2016 with an auction result of EUR 71,100.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2021 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Jean Cortot durch, in der auch die Arbeit In Praise Of T.S. Eliot von Jean Cortot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 16.250,00 und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Cortot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Éloge de Pierre-Jean Jouve im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 71.100,00.
