Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Christies in Paris held the auction 20th/21st Century: Paris Evening Sale, which included the work Sans titre by Jean-Paul Riopelle. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,422,000.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Paul Riopelle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sans Titre, which sold at auction in December 2017 for EUR 4,882,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion 20th/21st Century: Paris Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sans titre von Jean-Paul Riopelle zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 1.422.000,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Paul Riopelle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sans Titre beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für EUR 4.882.500,00 versteigert wurde.
