In December 2018 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Majorelle and his Contemporaries & Made in Morocco, which included the work Composition - 1958 by Jilali Gharbaoui. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 28,600.00 30% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jilali Gharbaoui - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composition, which sold at auction in November this year for GBP 88,200.00 (€ 102,204.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Majorelle and his Contemporaries & Made in Morocco durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition - 1958 von Jilali Gharbaoui zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 28.600,00 und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jilali Gharbaoui mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Composition beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für GBP 88.200,00 (€ 102.204,62) versteigert wurde.
