Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Johann Hamza could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work German A Difficult Audition changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,876.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Hamza - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A difficult recital, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 28,200.00 (€ 45,503.53).
