Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Vision, which included the work Langdon-Vanderbilt Mansion, Hyde Park by Johann Hermann Carmiencke. The price achieved of USD 11,500.00 (€ 11,786.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Hermann Carmiencke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, which sold at auction in January this year for USD 40,320.00 (€ 37,133.91).

Im Januar 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit Langdon-Vanderbilt Mansion, Hyde Park von Johann Hermann Carmiencke zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.500,00 (€ 11.786,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Hermann Carmiencke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples beobachtet, die im Januar diesen Jahres für USD 40.320,00 (€ 37.133,91) versteigert wurde.
