Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Crayfish in a porcelain bowl and plums on a tazza, with façon de Venise glasses, oysters and a lemon, on a table by Johann Seitz for USD 5,975.00 (€ 6,062.30). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Seitz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Crayfish and salmon in porcelain bowls, oysters, lemons, flowers in vases, fiaschi, knives and faon-de-Venise wine glasses on tables, which sold at auction in May 2000 for NLG 40,957.00 (€ 17,883.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Crayfish in a porcelain bowl and plums on a tazza, with façon de Venise glasses, oysters and a lemon, on a table von Johann Seitz für USD 5.975,00 (€ 6.062,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Seitz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Crayfish and salmon in porcelain bowls, oysters, lemons, flowers in vases, fiaschi, knives and faon-de-Venise wine glasses on tables beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für NLG 40.957,00 (€ 17.883,56) versteigert wurde.
