This artwork by Johannes Schouten achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the Old Master Drawings: Online auction, the work Figures on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, Amsterdam, the Koninlijk Paleis to the left, the old post office to the right sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,250.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Johannes Schouten; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A view of the Singel with the Munttoren, Amsterdam sold at auction in July 2018 with the realized price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,306.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johannes Schouten erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings: Online wurde die Arbeit Figures on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, Amsterdam, the Koninlijk Paleis to the left, the old post office to the right für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.250,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Johannes Schouten; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A view of the Singel with the Munttoren, Amsterdam im Juli 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.306,86).
