Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,211.25 (€ 1,396.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Augustus Atkinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Prince Regent accompanied by the Dukes of Wellington and York at the opening of Waterloo Bridge on 18th June 1817, on the anniversary of the battle, which sold at auction in April this year for GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,068.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The 1st King's Dragoon Guards at Waterloo von John Augustus Atkinson kam im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.211,25 (€ 1.396,95) einen neuen Besitzer.
