Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Vermont landscape by John Bunyan Bristol was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,482.39). Admittedly, works by John Bunyan Bristol have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape with Church in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,287.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Vermont landscape von John Bunyan Bristol im Oktober 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.482,39) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Bunyan Bristol auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape with Church im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.287,65).
