Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The London To Bristol Stage Coach by John Charles Maggs was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 725.85). Admittedly, works by John Charles Maggs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Bristol to London mail coach with a hunt beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,088.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The London To Bristol Stage Coach von John Charles Maggs im März 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 725,85) den Besitzer.
