This artwork by John Chiara achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2015. In the Photographs: The Evening Sale auction, the work Seven Chimneys-Carter-Highway 1 , 2013 sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,716.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Chiara; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Greene Street near Grand Street, Variation 4, 2018 sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of USD 21,420.00 (€ 20,328.37).
