Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Craxton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2018. In the Modern British Art Day Sale auction, the work Greek Fisherboy sold for GBP 65,000.00 (€ 73,461.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Craxton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 343,300.00 (€ 399,542.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Craxton erzielte im Juni 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Greek Fisherboy für GBP 65.000,00 (€ 73.461,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Craxton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 343.300,00 (€ 399.542,10).
