Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jumping the brook by John Dalby was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,453.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Dalby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Kill in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 55,463.77).

Die Arbeit Jumping the brook von John Dalby kam im Juni 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.232,50 (€ 3.453,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Dalby erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Kill im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.000,00 (€ 55.463,77).
