Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Falconar Slater could be acquired at Christies in London in April 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Lighthouse changed hands for GBP 687.50 (€ 876.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by John Falconar Slater have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Over Putney Heath in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,859.82).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Falconar Slater konnte im April 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit The Lighthouse für GBP 687,50 (€ 876,47) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Falconar Slater auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Over Putney Heath im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.859,82).
