In April 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A shepherdess watching her flock by a stream by John Faulkner. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,150.80) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Faulkner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crookhaven, Co. Cork in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,861.17).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A shepherdess watching her flock by a stream von John Faulkner zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.150,80) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Faulkner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crookhaven, Co. Cork im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.861,17).
