Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale, which included the work Downland rise by John Hitchens. It changed hands for a price of GBP 687.50 (€ 777.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Hitchens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work From Deep Shadows in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,478.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Downland rise von John Hitchens zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 777,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Hitchens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit From Deep Shadows im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.478,06).
