Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale - Property Removed From a Chelsea Townhouse, which included the work Psyche In Hades by John McKirdy Duncan. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,119.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John McKirdy Duncan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mary, Queen Of Scots in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 120,500.00 (€ 153,281.27).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.119,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00.
