Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rose in a Glass Jar by John Pawle was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 465.63). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Pawle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rue de la Paix, which sold at auction in March 2000 for GBP 920.00 (€ 1,530.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rose in a Glass Jar von John Pawle im Juni 2000 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 293,75 (€ 465,63) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Pawle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rue de la Paix beobachtet, die im März 2000 für GBP 920,00 (€ 1.530,00) versteigert wurde.
