In the The Joe Setton Collection: from Pre-Raphaelites to Last Romantics auction, the work Cupid and Psyche sold for GBP 175,000.00 (€ 195,490.60) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Roddam Spencer Stanhope - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Penelope, which sold at auction in December 2017 for GBP 645,000.00 (€ 725,853.02).
