This artwork by John William Godward achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2019. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Pyrallis sold for GBP 268,750.00 (€ 295,069.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by John William Godward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Far away thoughts in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,049,250.00 (€ 1,294,016.65).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John William Godward erzielte im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Pyrallis für GBP 268.750,00 (€ 295.069,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John William Godward auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Far away thoughts im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.049.250,00 (€ 1.294.016,65).
