Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from, which included the work Spring in a Western Orchard by John William North. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,979.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by John William North have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grass Of The Field in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,071.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring in a Western Orchard von John William North zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.979,85) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John William North auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Grass Of The Field im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 30.071,12).
