Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams held the auction Sir Terence ConranThe Contents of Barton Court, which included the work A set of twelve ebonised Viennese Secessionist armchairs by Josef Hoffmann. The price achieved of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,590.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Hoffmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work M 92 Table Lamp, Circa 1904 in November 2017 with an auction result of EUR 237,000.00.
