Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Comtesse de Provence (1753-1810), half-length, in a turquoise dress with white lace trim and ribbon by Joseph-Siffred Duplessis was sold in the A Rococo Fantasy Treasures from a Bavarian Collection auction at Christies in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,647.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph-Siffred Duplessis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Benjamin Franklin in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,279,893.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Comtesse de Provence (1753-1810), half-length, in a turquoise dress with white lace trim and ribbon von Joseph-Siffred Duplessis wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion A Rococo Fantasy Treasures from a Bavarian Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.647,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
