This artwork by Joseph William Carey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2004. In the Irish and 20th Century British Art auction, the work Donaghadee; and Carrickfergus sold for GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,378.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Joseph William Carey; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Theta; a yacht, racing in Belfast Lough sold at auction in May 2000 with the realized price of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,541.77).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph William Carey erzielte im Mai 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Donaghadee; and Carrickfergus für GBP 3.585,00 (€ 5.378,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00.
