Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Memory of a Journey, 1970 by Judy Cassab was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,800.00 – 2,800.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,968.00 (€ 1,179.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Judy Cassab - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl with Bruegel 2, which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,817.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Memory of a Journey, 1970 von Judy Cassab wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.800,00 – 2.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 1.968,00 (€ 1.179,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Judy Cassab mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl with Bruegel 2 beobachtet, die im August 2003 für AUD 6.462,50 (€ 3.817,73) versteigert wurde.
