Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jules Delaunay could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector auction, the work Daphnis et Chloé changed hands for USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,180.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Jules Delaunay have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2001 by the work Reclining nude at GBP 23,500.00 (€ 37,919.60).
