Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2018 Christies in London held the auction Handpicked: 50 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery, which included the work Flat by Julia Wachtel. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,428.83). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julia Wachtel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape No. 13 (backyard), which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,187.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Handpicked: 50 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flat von Julia Wachtel zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.428,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Julia Wachtel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape No. 13 (backyard) beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.187,26) versteigert wurde.
