Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mar de Múzquiz by Julio Galán was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2015. It changed hands for a price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 79,588.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julio Galán - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Silenzio, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 201,600.00 (€ 206,071.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mar de Múzquiz von Julio Galán kam im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 79.588,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Julio Galán mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Silenzio beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 201.600,00 (€ 206.071,76) versteigert wurde.
