Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Genuine Guilt) by Justin Ponmany for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,836.57). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Justin Ponmany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 138,095.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Genuine Guilt) von Justin Ponmany für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.836,57) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Justin Ponmany erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Staple agony - II (Plastic Memory) im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 109.250,00 (€ 138.095,66).
